Since I was out voted for the Butchart Gardens, we decided to have a picnic lunch at Beacon Hill Park http://beaconhillpark.ca/ that was just past downtown Victoria. This "not so little" park had it all...English gardens with ponds and small bridges, gorgeous maple trees, playgrounds, walking/bike trails that took you deep into the park and surrounded by miles of beaches. Although the weather was a bit cool and some drizzle, we enjoyed our little early afternoon excursion.
