Since we didn't visit the famous Butchart Gardens, the dads, kids and I compromised to a English Tea brunch at the Blethering Place http://www.thebletheringplace.ca/menu_restaurant.html in a little town called Oak Bay. We all sampled various black and fruit teas, with cream and sugar and with our pinkies up. We were served cucumber sandwiches, English Trifles, famous Nanaimo bars, lemon tarts, quiches.. Although it was obvious that Alyssa and I enjoyed our tea time, the boys were real troopers!
